THE ‘Kerry Festival of Pride’ will be taking place in town later this month with a whole host of events and activities lined up over the 5 day period.
The festival is an annual celebration of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) community in the Kerry region. It is now is now in its third year and will be running from May 12 to May 17.
This year, it will be celebrating ‘Marriage Equality’, as it is taking place before the marriage equality referendum on May 22.
The series of events and activities lined up include a bowling night, a movie night and finishing up with the annual parade.
It will kick off here in Tralee on Wednesday, May 13 when there will be a movie night held at 7.30pm in ‘Bowling Buddies’ Tralee, Manor East Park. Admission is €5 on the night with refreshments being provided.
Another notable event will be held on the Friday, May 15 when at 7pm in Roundy’s Bar, you will have the chance to pop in to meet some of the organisers of the festival. There will be free admission to this.
