Mike O’Halloran on the Kerry Under 21 County Hurling Championship quarter-final…
Abbeydorney/Ballyheigue 1-14
Kilmoyley 1-12
Maurice O’Connor who has been the stand out forward I’ve seen in the past few days must have thought he had brought this game to extra time when he goaled for Kilmoyley to level matters at 1-12 to 1-12 with only minutes on the clock.
Michael O’Leary had other ideas as he added two points to get Abbeydorney/Ballyheigue over the line in a keenly contested game played in Abbeydorney, a game that at times had a bit of an edge.
At halftime the scoreboard read Abbeydorney/Ballyheigue 1-8 Kilmoyley 0-9, the final point of the first half coming from Adam Maunsell.

Michael had made it 1-4 to 0-2 and it looked like Abbeydorney/Ballyheigue might move away from Kilmoyley but Kilmoyley stuck at it with Maurice O’Connor, Philip Maunsell, Paudie Godley and Robert Collins keeping them in touch.
Michael O’Leary added a point on the resumption Maurice O’Connor replied for Kilmoyley before O’Leary pointed again.
Killian Spillane swapped points with Maurice O’Connor. Michael O’Leary made it a three point game with a minute on the clock before Maurice O’Connor struck for goal.
Two points from O’Leary, one of them a 20 metre free which he blasted as far as The Cloisters sealed the win for Abbeydorney/Ballyheigue.
