ROSE FESTIVAL: The Square Will Rock To Oasis, Stones And Neil Diamond Tribute Acts

‘Live Forever — Oasis Tribute’ play The Square on Friday night.

THE Square is always a popular spot at night during the Festival, especially with locals, and if rock is your thing then you won’t be disappointed this year with some great free entertainment.

Tribute acts are to the fore all weekend with the songs of Oasis, Neil Diamond and The Rolling Stones sure to rock the Square.

If Jake Carter isn’t your thing on Denny Street on Friday night, then a more lively 90s soundtrack might suit you as ‘Live Forever — Oasis Tribute’ take to the stage at 9.30pm.

They’re described as Ireland’s foremost tribute to the Mancunian maestros so expect singalong anthems a plenty floating into the night sky.

After the parade ends on Saturday night, there’ll be plenty hands swaying in the air when the Neil Diamond Tribute Show begins at 10.30pm. This is an act for all ages as the Brooklyn-born legend’s songs are almost part of our DNA at this stage. Expect mental scenes for ‘Sweet Caroline’, ‘Cracklin Rosie’ and Forever In Blue Jeans’ to name but three classics.

Then on Sunday night, the Irish Stones will transport you back to the 60s/70s/80s heyday of The Rolling Stones with a host of classics.

Taking to the stage at 9.30pm, ‘Paint It Black’, ‘Miss You’ and ‘Sympathy For The Devil’ are some of the classics that will end the weekend on a lively note.

If you’re in town on Monday night, then the famous Big Generator will keep the Square buzzing, while on Tuesday it’s the turn of The Kilkennys. So The Square has some amazing bands providing free entertainment over the Festival.
