Seven Things To Do At Féile Thrá Lí/Rose Of Tralee Festival On Saturday

After some great entertainment on Friday, the Festival is really in full wing now and the crowd will be out in force in the dry weather for  host of activities on Saturday. Here’s a few things to get up to today…

1. Free entry to the Museum

There’s free entry to the Museum today where you can visit the annual ‘Gowns of Glory’ exhibition displaying Rose of Tralee dresses through the decades. Some of the Roses will be there from 3pm to 4pm.

There’s also the Casement in Kerry, Kerry through the Ages, Tom Crean Polar Room, Archaeology Hall and of course the popular Medieval Experience to enjoy.

 

2. See the Emergency Services display…

Between 12pm and 4pm there will be a number of emergency services vehicles and personnel at the end of Denny Street (Ashe Memorial Hall) for a free event open to all.

There will be a display from An Garda Siochana- fire service- Ambulance- Banna rescue- Red Cross- Civil defence and many more. There will be a sensory hour from 12pm to 1pm where no lights or sirens will be activated during this time.

3. Mind, body and soul…

Presented by Quest & Thrive, the Wellness Zone has Meditation, Yoga, breathwork, soundbath, talks & workshops at Páirc an Phiarsaigh for all the family. For registration & info on events, click here

 

4. Family entertainment in town…

The Town Park will have all the fun of family town, while the Mall and The Square will also see great entertainment. The food stalls will cater for all culinary needs while there will also  be loads of stalls to visit.

5. Fly with Birds…

The highlight of the week for kids and teenagers is of course Birds Amusements and the fun continues at Ivy Terrace and the Brandon Car Park from 2pm daily until Sunday, August 25.

6. The spectacle of the parade…

One of the highlights of the festival, the ‘Love For The Roses’ parade will feature floats, fireworks, glowing costumes and of course the Roses, Rose Escorts and Rose Buds for 2024 along with 10 marching bands and over 100 performers. It’s scheduled to hit the town after 8.30pm.

7. Beats on the streets…

Once again there’s some amazing music to enjoy on the streets of Tralee on Saturday.

Highlights include Rory Gallagher tribute act Deuce on the Square stage from 8pm to 9pm. This is followed by local band Aftershock from 9.30pm to 11pm.

Over on Denny Street, the kids from Music Generation will perform from 6.30pm to 8pm when a an entertainer will warm up the crowd for the Roses. After the fireworks, Louis Walsh’s latest boyband, Next In Line will sing for the masses. There’s also great bands to enjoy on the Castle Street Stage.
