THERE was another case of disgraceful behaviour by people at the weekend when bags of rubbish were dumped over a bridge just outside town.
The incident happened on Saturday night/Sunday morning, with residents in the Kerries West area noticing the bags dumped over a small bridge in the area while out walking later on Sunday.
Most of the rubbish at the bridge – located about 200 metres from the Tralee-Fenit road – was taken away by Kerry County Council on Tuesday morning, but a local resident sent on a photo to us which was taken on Sunday morning showing the full extent of the dumping.

When we went to the area on Tuesday morning there were still bottles and cans floating in the water, which itself looked to be polluted, thanks to the prevalence of discarded material which no doubt can cause harm to wildlife in the area and the environment.
Sadly, dumping is a regular problem in this scenic part of the Tralee environs. The Litter Warden is going through the bags to see if the culprits left anything which might identify them. Scroll down for photos taken on Tuesday morning…
