Juvenile Academy

U5

The Under 5s enjoyed a fine morning of football and games. The practice is paying off with improvements in ball handling, catching and passing. We finished off the session with a fun game of sharks and fishes, and everyone went home happy with some Easter chocolate. Well done to player of the week Jack.

U7

A fantastic turn out this morning in our 2nd day back in field. Over 22 players turned out.
We worked on a lot of skills involved in the upcoming go games. The improvement in skills has increased massively in just a short time. A big thanks to Mike and fizzy for helping out today, Player of the week was Oliver.

U8 Girls

Very well done to all our 19 girls this morning and especially to our player of the week Abby who showed great enthusiasm! It’s fantastic to be back training on our home ground in the sunshine & making friends.

We were delighted to have 5 coaches for the girls today & enjoyed a fun session practicing our skills through match based training. Keep up the practice at home girls ahead of a busy season of upcoming matches!

U10 Girls

U10 Girls trained Sunday morning at St. Pats pitch. 11 girls played fun games coached by Monica and Nigel.

They worked on their hand passing playing hand pass touchdown to start, worked on their solos, point kicking, attacking and defending. We finished with a match.  Well done to Ailbhe Hennessy who won player of the week.

Ailbhe works hard at every session but particularly excelled today during drills and the match displaying great tackling and defensive skills. Well done Ailbhe and everyone keep up the good work and keep up the practice at home. See you all next week.

U11

Our u11’s played their third game in the U11 County Go Games last Thursday evening where we hosted Ardfert. Both our teams played gallantly in their respective games which were very keenly contested by both teams.

Huge thanks to our Go Games Referees Keelin Enright, Cillian Lynch and Adam Mulvihill who have been brilliant in officiating all of our home games to date. All the boys in the squad have played great in the games to date and they are improving every time we train or play games.

We have another great attendance last Sunday where we worked on our basic skills and movement and finished with a great game with all the lads showing great endeavour. Our next set of fixtures are this Thursday where we host Dingle. Time to be confirmed later in the week.

U12 Girls

Our u12 girls played castlegregory on Tuesday evening coming away with an impressive win. St. Pats got off to a strong start with Meaghan opening the score with a great point quickly followed by a lovely point from Aisling. Castlegregory responded with a lovely point to narrow the gap.

We certainly found our free taker as Kaela slotted 2 superb points over the bar from frees. Niamh Murphy was very unlucky to have her goal disallowed but got her name on the scoreboard with a beautiful point after receiving a quick punch pass from Erika.

Hannah and Jessica were both introduced before half time and Hannah popped a lovely point over the bar while Jessica fought hard for every ball leaving the half time score St. Pats 0-6 Castlegregory 0-1.

In the second half our goalie Eve was a lot busier and once again saving many shots on targets never allowing castlegregory to hit the back of the net. Our back line of Chloe, Safira, Alannah, Lucy and Emma made it very difficult for the castlegregory girls to score defending well and sending great ball to our midfielders Sarah and Aisling who both had another great game with Aisling getting another point and a mighty goal leaving the full time score St. Pats 1-8 Castlegregory 0-3

Team: Eve O Sullivan, Lucy Smyth, Chloe Passway, Safira Ekrin, Alannah O Mahoney, Sarah Greaney, Aisling O Mahoney, Kaela Reidy, Niamh Murphy, Erika Balode, Meaghan Barrero, Emma Lacey, Jessica Lacey and Hannah Enright.

U13 Boys

After a few weeks layoff without a competitive game our Under 13 team was back in action last Sunday evening with a home game against Tarbert. The long journey from Tarbert certainly didn’t affect their players and from the start they dominated play. With seven of our players from the under 11 squad it was an uphill struggle to physically compete with a team of the calibre of Tarbert. We had good performances right across the team however we just couldn’t get a fighting grip on the exchanges. Our next game is scheduled for Sunday the 8th May with a home game against Castlegregory.

U15

Our U15 hosted Skellig Rangers/Valentia at home at 7pm in their Round 5 game.

Seniors

With the sun shining down on us on Saturday night last St Pats played against Churchill in their Round 4 of the County League. From the minute Sean Joy threw the ball up to begin the game both sides kept pressure and fast pace to the match for the entire time. The first half had two points from Fergal O Brien and Breandan Savage got a goal. Churchill’s scoring was greater than ours. This quick paced edge of your seat playing didn’t allow any side to rest on their laurels. The first half came to an end with the scoreboard reading St Pats 1-02 to Churchill 1-06.

The second half began with the sun behind the clouds but there was nothing dulled about this half. David O Callaghan scored three points in this half with Adrian Greaney adding his own point on. Churchill only scored one point in this half but it was enough to stay ahead. This match was high intensity, fast paced and hold your breath moments both sides gave us a match to watch but ultimately it was Churchill who won out when the final whistle blew. Well done to all who played it was a tough match but none of you gave up. St Pats 1-06 Churchill 1-07.

Our seniors play their Round 5 County League on the 30th of April at 7pm against Brosna in Brosna.

Congratulations

To Eileen Counihan and Gary O Connell on the birth of their Baby Boy last week.
