Healthy Club

SAVE THE DATE for a Healthy Clubs Fun Day in place of the Academy and Training from 10.30am on Sunday 3rd September… details to follow!

Juvenile Academy

U7 Boys

We had a very entertaining session on Sunday morning, the lads got a great run and much needed exercise away from the festival for a while. We played a challenge game against the girls and once the lads got over their shyness, it was a very exciting match, with some great skills on show!

U8 Girls

Well done to all the girls on Sunday morning last, They showed how they’re improving every week with all their skills. The girls finished off the training session when they played a fun match against the under 7 boys. Without doubt the girls had the boys under pressure!! Keep up the practice at home girls!

U9

Our u9’s had a great session this week. We worked on our kicking and tackling and had a quick possession game followed by a very competitive 5 a side game. Well done to all the boys!

U11

St Pats U-11’s played at home against Templenoe last Thursday in the penultimate round of Central Region League. Despite the wintry weather conditions, all our St Pats future stars played brilliantly.

The coaches were delighted to see all our boys show great handling, kicking, scoring, and blocking skills. A big thanks to our young stars Darragh & Tommy for togging out for us, they both played very well.

A special mention to AJ our goalie for the evening, the continuous rain didn’t deter AJ as he pulled off some great saves for his team and his kickouts were outstanding. We are scheduled to play Castleisland Desmonds at home this Thursday evening the 24th, hope to see ye all there.

It’s important ye all continue to attend our training sessions and also keep practicing your skills at home during the week. The training and match details for the week will be circulated to parents shortly. Naomh Pádraig Abú!!

U12 Girls

Training continued this week for the U12 Girls.

U14 Girls

The U-14 girls were unfortunately defeated in their semi final away to Inbhear Sceine Gaels. They made the long bus trip to the scenic pitch of Templenoe on Monday evening last.

Our girls really put it up to the opposition and had an outstanding game working as a team and scoring some mighty points and even slipping in a few goals in ISG’s net!

The game was decided in the last quarter with no subs to call on and legs tiring, a few quick goals from ISG in the dying minutes, saw St. Pats chances of reaching the final disappear!

The Girls as always put on a great performance and once again they never gave up. It was a huge achievement to get to a semi final with such a young team.

Thanks to all our supporters for making the long journey and encouraging our girls from the sideline. We made a quick stop at the shop on the way home and all the smiles were back again before the windmill was in sight!

Brendan’s U15’s

Our U15’s continue training this Friday at 6pm.

The team will play the shield semi-final away to Kenmare on Wednesday at 7pm

St Brendan’s Minors

St Brendan’s play West Kerry in the Keane’s SuperValu Minor Football County Championship Shield Final in Austin Stacks Park on 21st of August at 6.15pm.

Seniors

There were two changes for both teams before the beginning of the match, with Tommy Lynch on for Conor Moore and Liam O Sullivan on for David O Callaghan.

With the ball thrown in Patrick Dowling and Liam Poff jumped in anticipation to get to the ball first before Ballyduff players it was Patrick Dowling who was successful in winning the ball and got the first point of the game.

Three Ballyduff players each got a point and a quick goal add to their lead. A free for Eoin Greaney which sailed over the bar for a point, Ballyduff adding another point to the tally.

Point for point with pass coming from Brian Murphy to Eoin Greaney once again adding another point with a point reply from Ballyduff, St Pats final score was from Eoin Greaney which came from hand pass from Fergal O Brien with one more point.

There was hard luck for a goal from Brian Murphy when his kick was blocked by Ballyduff goalkeeper. Ballyduff added a goal and a point before the end of the first half. St Pats 0-04 Ballyduff 2-06

Ballyduff opening the scoring in the second half with a point, Kieran Hurley, Fergal O Brien, and Eoin Greaney with a point each trying to do their best to close the gap between the sides.

Ballyduff rattled the back of St Pats net, Patrick Dowling managed a point under tough opposition. Despite the best efforts with each player taking on defensive positions, three scores came from Ballyduff two points and a goal.

Brendan Poff was closing in on the oppositions goals unfortunately the ball went wide. Eoin Greaney and Cillian Lynch each added a point of their own with opposition adding a final point. Eoin Greaney added one final point to the scoring with the match ending St Pats 0-11 Ballyduff 4-10

St Pats Team:  Paudie Bailey (C), Joe O Connor, Niall McCarthy, Tommy Lynch, Luke Mulligan, Cillian O Riordan, Brian Murphy, Liam Poff, Patrick Dowling, Fergal O Brien, Brendan Poff, Gary Savage, Liam O Sullivan, Kieran Hurley, and Eoin Greaney
