Community Games

What a great day in An Riocht for the Under 8- under 12 county community games athletics! We had huge representation and support for our Blennerville/ Ballyard area. Thanks to all the families for their support and cheering!

Lots of our athletes qualified out of their heats to go on and compete in Semi-finals, the competitive standard at semifinal level was so strong and the athletes should be very proud of themselves for getting so far! Very well done to Aaron and Olivia who made the U10 200m finals and to the U10 mixed relay team of Austin, Erica, Aaron & Emma who made it through the semifinals and into the relay final.

Harriet O’Loghlen jumped fantastically for U12 girls and deservedly earned her place in the National finals in Carlow!
Thomas Higgins kept up his sprinting performances to win third in the Under 12 boys 100m, he will go on to represent us at the regional finals in Clonmel. Faye Lynch blitzed her heat and semifinal and earned fourth place pewter medal in her Under 8 girls 80m!!

GOLD MEDALS for BLENNERVILLE/ BALLYARD U14 boys relay team!!!

And a fantastic run as usual by Amy Noonan earning her second in the U14 girls 800m… Amy goes on to represent us in the regional finals. Well done to all our other athletes today. It has been a busy morning in An Riocht with all races running off very quickly. Well done to Rian Flynn who just missed out on top 2 to qualify for the U14m 100 final. Hugh & Tommy did their best in a very competitive 800m boys straight final. Amy fought all the way and earned a very deserving 2nd place; this qualifies her for the regional finals in Clonmel. The U13 mixed relay juggled long jump and relay overlap. they ran well but were outside the placings. Sophie Mulgrew’s jumped well in a very competitive U14 long jump field.
The Flynn twins jumped well in their younger year in under 14 boys’ long jump.
Thanks to all the organisers & stewards of Kerry Community Games for a very enjoyable and well-run event.
