Well done to all the girls who took part on Sunday morning. They had two very tough games against a very good Austin Stacks team. Our two teams did brilliantly in both games and showed great teamwork which resulted in some great scores which the coaches were delighted it. Keep up the practising at home girls during the week it is all paying off and the coaches can see it in your play. Well done again and they will see you all for training next Sunday morning. UP ST PATS.

U13

U13 County League Phase 2

St Pats 2-8
Na Fianna 0-9

On a fine Sunday evening in Blennerville our u13s hosted Na Fianna in the semi-final of the Central Region competition. There were fantastic numbers out in support for both teams. Our boys worked hard from the outset but were maybe a bit nervous and lot of passes were off target. Na Fianna also seemed to be winning the 50/50 situations by getting out in front.

We were probably fortunate that Na Fianna did not make more of the opportunities they had but our defenders also must be given credit for keeping us in the game. We went into half time trailing by one point but knowing we could play better.

The teams were evenly matched, but we felt the opportunity was there to win the game. We asked the boys to show a bit more fight if they wanted to get to the final. We played much better in the second half, creating more scoring opportunities and taking our goal chances.

Na Fianna responded well and pushed hard for a goal to get back in the game, but our defence held up bravely under pressure. In the end we won out by five points, but it was a closer contest than the scoreline.
