IN case you hadn’t noticed, the weather has been pretty bad of late.
There seems to be no let up in the rain and wind as it pummels the country and Kerry seems to be getting it very bad.
There’s Status Yellow rainfall and wind warnings in effect for the county on Monday, but a Status Orange wind warning has been issued for Tuesday with southerly winds associated with Storm Frank reaching mean speeds of 65 to 80 km with gusts of 100 to 120 km/hour, strongest in coastal areas on Tuesday afternoon, evening and early night.
The warning is valid for Tuesday from noon until midnight.
Today’s rainfall warning lasts until 6pm so that’s the day gone.
Rainfall totals of 20 to 30 mm are possible today with the highest amounts in mountaineous areas.
Tomorrow will see bright spells with some scattered showers in the morning, but increasing cloud and strengthening winds will bring rain spreading from the west during the afternoon and turning heavy in places later.
Cold at first but temperatures gradually rising during the day and reaching 7 to 10 degrees by mid-afternoon.
South to southeast winds will increase strong to gale force and very gusty in the afternoon.
Wednesday brings a plague of locusts, an earthquake in Caherslee and raining frogs out in Camp…or maybe it just feels like that will happen at the moment.
So much for getting out to run off the nine boxes of Milk Tray scoffed in the past week.
