GARDAÍ and the emergency services attended the scene where a car veered off the street and into a wall in town on Wednesday afternoon.
A car travelling from the direction of Russell Street rolled into the wall just before John Dowling’s shop on Bridge Street at around 4.30pm.
Gardaí, the fire service and an ambulance were soon on the scene and the driver, a man in his 60s, was taken to Kerry General Hospital. His condition is not known at this time.
Gardaí were diverting traffic travelling from Rock Street up to The Mall for a time, but now Bridge Street has been reopened.
Gardaí are investigating a fatal road traffic collision, which happened this morning shortly before 9.00am.
The single vehicle crash happened on the Ballyduff to Tralee road at Ballincrossig Cross, Lixnaw.
The driver of the car, a woman in her 40s, was fatally injured. Two teenaged passengers were removed by ambulance to Kerry General Hospital. Their condition is not known.
The road at the scene of the crash was closed to facilitate an examination of the area by Garda forensic collision investigators. It has since reopened.
