CHARLIE’S bar at Kerins O’Rahillys clubhouse was hopping on Wednesday night as both friends and customers turned up in their droves to say goodbye to Tom and Eileen O’Shea on their last night spent working behind the bar.

Tom, a native of Conahy, Co. Kilkenny, married Eileen Lynch from Foilmore and the couple moved up to the county capital from south Kerry over 30 years ago and became part of the Kerins O’Rahillys family.

It was an emotional night for them and the club left Tom and Eileen in no doubt of how much they will be missed, sending them off with well wishes for the future. Scroll down for photos…

Tom Celebrates 30 Years Behind The Bar At Strand Road

.
Tom O’Shea of Charlie’s Bar at Kerins O’Rahillys Clubhouse who celebrated 30 years running the bar this week.

HE may be a supporter of the black and amber in hurling, but Tom is a true Blue and he’s got the years of hard graft at Strand Road HQ to prove it.

Tom O’Shea has been serving pints over the counter at the Kerins O’Rahillys Club for 30 years and there was a small celebration sprung on him on Wednesday to mark the milestone.

Tom, a native of Castlecomer in Kilkenny is married to Eileen (née Lynch), a Cahersiveen native, and the two them have been running the club’s bar and restaurant for all those years and doing a great job too.

They’ve seen a lot of changes in the club over the years — especially the huge revamp of the bar and addition of function rooms around ten years ago —  and witnessed some great celebrations, not least the aftermath of the 2002 county final.

Congratulations Tom and here’s to many more years of serving the Naries with distinction.
