IT was a glorious Sunday morning in Tralee Town Park as families gathered for a fundraiser for a local school.
The community from St John’s Parochial School in Ashe Street were out in force for a fun run to raise funds for school yard and play space upgrades.
“We’re delighted with the turnout from the school community and we’ve a lovely day for it here,” said Principal Mike O’Toole.

“We thank them for supporting us and we’ve already raised over €2,000 on the gofundme page. It’s been great to see people come out for to support the event. With the funds we’re hoping to put down an astro-pitch/multi-play surface in an area at the school,” said Mike.
After a warm-up, the participants set off on 2k and 5k routes around the Park just after 11am and there was a lovely atmosphere generated by the close-knit school community. Scroll down for photos…
