EXCITEMENT is reaching new heights as nearly 140 exhibitors across Kerry gear up for Kerry EXPO on Sunday at the INEC Killarney.

The Kerry EXPO, which is now an annual fixture in the regional calendar, brings together both businesses and communities from all over the county and promises to be as spectacular as ever.

Organisers plan to build on last year’s experience and this year’s schedule of entertainment, events and activities promises more fun, with more activities, more entertainment and even more excitement than ever.

The one day event is free to visitors and hosts oceans of activities for all the family, including a range of kids workshops such as the Wacky Science Pod, Lego Serious Play, Claymation for Movie Moguls and a Circus workshop.

All workshops are free of charge to kids aged 7-12, but as places are limited, parents are advised to register kids online through kerryexpo.ie.

All of the workshops are designed to promote skills that our future leaders need, but these workshops are all rolled out in a fun, interactive and social setting.

There is over €1,000 worth of prizes for participating schools and wining schools will be announced on the day.  So schools should make sure they are well represented!

Storm Troopers, Chewbacca and Darth Vader- visitors from the Galaxy this weekend at the Kerry EXPO.

Equally the full schedule of family entertainment includes the arrival of our friends from the Galaxy, R2D2 and the Jedi are landing down on Kerry soil as special guests of the EXPO.

Darth Vader will be prowling around, no doubt looking for likely bodies to join him in the dark side, while Star Wars Troopers will have a watchful presence onsite.

The infamous but highly temperamental Chewbacca will make himself known to EXPO visitors while a giant sized 6ft Bumblebee might just be on the look-out  for an opportunity to sting.

The activity park will be packed with more fun, featuring the Tall Gent, Tight rope walking, and Drum Dance Ireland. If kids and teens are still full of energy they are free to test their skills in the Gauntlet and the bungie trapped Hungry Hippo.

Football legends Mick O’Dwyer and Seamus Moynihan will participate in a staged panel discussion with Chairman of the Kerry County Board-Tim Murphy.

The discussion is chaired by Dara Ó Cinnéide – RTÉ Raidió na Gaeltachta. So get the Jersey’s on and come along to support the team!

“Killarney’s Liberace” aka the incredible Jack Patrick Healy will be performing an hour and a half gig at the Expo this Sunday!

If all that’s not enough, well then perhaps your attentions will be drawn to the sizzling and tantalising aroma of food from both the Dingle cookery school and a number of food producers such as Dingle Sushi and Kilcummin Pies, not to mention mouth-watering crème de la crepe and the little cheese shop.

Cooking enthusiasts will be treated to lots of tips and new recipes as Taste Kerry host some indoor cooking demo’s featuring Mark Doe and other culinary professionals.

The indoor food village will feature a number of Kerry’s top food and drink producers such as Ring of Kerry Lamb, Cordal Goats cheese, Tom Creans and Cronins Ciders, Glenbeigh Shellfish, Krave, and many more.

If cars are your passion, the outdoor vintage car and tractor showcase is a must. Motoring enthusiasts will want to flex their skills on the car crash simulator and check out the latest motoring supercars.

Enable Ireland will be on-hand showcasing a range of technologies to help adults and children who experience difficulties linked to disability or aging.

And, here’s hoping that Kerry’s famous explorer Mike O’Shea will return from his latest adventures in deepest Africa in time to treat visitors to his tales of narrow escapes and perilous encounters.

Lastly, if biking around the globe is on your bucket list, you’ll have a chance to chat with GoGo Dermo who biked around the world to raise funds for Trocaire.

The entire event is open to visitors of all ages and entertainment is all free of charge.

For full schedule of events, activities, workshops and bus services visit: kerryexpo.ie. The event is open to the public from 11am to 5pm.

Organisers are hoping that residents and businesses across Kerry will come out and support both exhibitors and the event on May 13th in the INEC in Killarney and we are looking forward to meeting you all.

KERRY EXPO 2018 has been launched and the call has gone out for exhibitors for the event which was such an enormous success last year.

Last year’s event attracted nearly 10,000 visitors and this year organisers are anticipating record attendance to the 2018 event which is scheduled for May 13th.

It’s regarded as a fantastic platform to promote businesses across Kerry and exhibitor registration is now open at kerryexpo.ie.

Businesses and organisations of all sizes are welcome to exhibit and exhibition costs range from €100 to €450, with a choice of shell scheme stands and a limited availability of table or space only options.

Registrations have already been pouring in as last year’s exhibitors are keen to participate in the 2018 event.

The show will extend over two floors of the INEC in Killarney, with additional exhibitors and vendors in the outdoor area.

The event is designed to encourage large companies throughout Kerry to engage with the community and allows the general public a view inside the doors of major companies operating in the region.

It also provides a fantastic opportunity to SME’s looking to sell or promote their services to a large audience while government bodies and educational institutions will also be on-hand to answer queries and meet members of the public.

The Expo has grown from 60 to over 140 exhibitors over a very short period and will include a business showcase, recruitment, education, family entertainment, food & lifestyle and much more. It is fast becoming one of the most anticipated events of its kind in the county.

A full job vacancy guide will be available to job seekers and career changers along with a detailed floor map to guide visitors through the entire event.

Some other highlights of the upcoming 2018 Kerry Expo will include the arrival of R2 D2, Chewbacca, Darthvader and the event will also host kid and teen workshops such as the Wacky Science Pod, Designer minds, Circus Workshops and a virtual reality pod.

There will be lots of food tastings and cooking demo’s in the food village and a sports section with GAA panel discussion, vintage cars and tractors, new car sales and much more, ensuring there is something for everyone in the family.

Organisers say they have received tremendous support from businesses and organisations throughout Kerry and without their financial input the event would not be possible.

“Contributions from organisations and sponsorship from major Kerry based companies allow us to keep exhibitor costs at minimum levels by providing highly subsidised exhibition space particularly  for start-ups, entrepreneurs and small businesses,” said Liz Maher.

“The sponsorship and funding also enables us to provide free entry to the public throughout the day, thus maximising the exhibitor audience,” she added.

In addition, a localised event of this nature encourages business and economic growth throughout the region and creates a more unified and inclusive business community while giving Kerry residents a sense of pride of place. To register to exhibit at the 2018 Kerry Expo go to www.kerryexpo.ie
