AS part of the Junior Entrepreneur Programme, fifth class pupils at Gaelscoil Mhic Easmainn set up their own business called Mi Magnets.

The students sold thousands of fridge magnets to local clubs as part of the project. Austin Stacks Club commissioned the students to develop personalised magnets for the club, to celebrate their 100th anniversary this year.

The magnets had the Austin Stacks crest and centenary logo, as well as the club dates 1917-2017. The company also developed magnets for families in the school and Christmas themed magnets, which all sold very well.

The Mi Magnet Company was set up by 28 fifth class pupils and their teacher, Colm Ó hAiniféin.

Colm said, “We were very lucky. The businesses and football clubs around Tralee all got involved. Stacks, Mitchels, Na Gaeil, O’Rahillys, we did all their Irish names before Christmas. It was a brilliant success.”

The company has sold over 2,000 magnets so far, making it a great achievement for the school.
