ST JOHN’s Parish are taking a proactive step by bringing the church to the people.
The parish of St John’s are organising two events one in Manor and the other in The Square on the Saturday, March 19 and Sunday, March 20 respectively.
‘Mercy in the Square’ and ‘Mercy in Manor’ are being held to mark the Year of Mercy which is a period for remission of sins and universal pardon.

“It’s a good opportunity to engage and be out there and to meet with the people,” said St John’s Parish Council member, Norma Foley.
“The initiative very much celebrates the Year of Mercy where the church is open to all and there’s a welcome for all,” she added.
Between 1pm and 4pm on Saturday, ‘Mercy in the Square’ invites the people of Tralee to meet with a priest for a prayer, confession, a blessing or even a simple chat.
‘Mercy In Manor’ will run off on Sunday, also between 1pm and 4pm and equally so there will be a number of priests available. This follows on from a similar event that was held in Ennis recently that proved successful.
