KERRY County Council has supplied a weather and roads update on Storm Ali.

They say the worst of the stormy conditions have now passed and the Status Orange warning for Kerry has been lifted.

Council staff have been responding to fallen trees and other issues across the county since 5am and have now dealt with all the major blockages on roads across the county.

There are now no known obstructions to any national primary, secondary or regional roads in the county.

However, motorists should continue to drive with care this afternoon as there remains some debris from storm damage on many road surfaces.

In the larger towns such as Tralee, staff are clearing branches and debris from estates and residential areas. Any remaining debris on local and minor roads will also be cleared in the coming hours.

Kerry County Council acknowledges and appreciates the support of the general public as staff dealt with the impact of Storm Ali. The Council also thanks its outdoor crews who cleared all routes promptly and efficiently.
