The last few weeks in the world of Subbuteo have been quite hectic. About 6 weeks ago the World Cup was held in Rome. Ireland was well represented as was Northern Ireland. In the team competition Ireland pulled off a big shock when they defeated Germany 2-1. The eventual winners were favourites and hosts Italy.
Onto the 22 October and it was the All Ireland Subbuteo Championships in Dublin. Tralee and Munster were represented by Dave and William who were part of a field of 16 competing players. This was the largest turnout for such an event in a number of years with players coming from Cork, Wexford, Dublin, Belfast, Derry and Donegal to name but a few. The winner was Dubliner Mark Farrell who defeated Matin Og Bradley of Derry in a competitive final.
Last Saturday 29 Oct the Tralee and Munster Club held a club play meet. In all 6 games were played in what turned out to be a very tight competition. Dave just about won the day from Tomas and Cian.
In November we aim to have at least one other meet with the final round of the Irish Open on in Gorey, Wexford on 26 November.
