“€200 million is a far cry from our humble beginnings of £50 when we opened in 1968, today we have 42,000 members, with branch offices in Tralee, Castleisland and Killorglin employing over 50 staff within the community. It’s been a very good year for Tralee Credit Union so it’s actually treble celebrations, we have just completed our year end last month and this year over 9,000 members borrowed over €34 million from Tralee Credit Union representing our largest amount ever lent out in a financial year.”
“€34 million reflects the increase in consumer confidence, an increase in people borrowing with Tralee Credit Union and the increase in what we contribute to the local economy as most of €34 million we lent is spent locally helping to sustain growth and employment,” he said.
