A YOUNG Tralee boxer has won an All-Ireland title in Dublin.

Chris Mongans is an All Ireland Champion (Boy 2 54Kg) and the improvement in this young man since winning his County Championship in February is largely down to the young fella’s attitude to work.

He never misses a training session always willing to do a little more than the next guy, and a huge amount of guts.

Beaten twice last year by his opponent Eoin O Donnell (east down BC), young Christopher wasn’t going to be denied a victory in this most important of bouts.

Twice before, O’Donnell dragged Christopher into a brawl and the big body puncher went on to win both times.

This time however, Christopher refused to stop boxing and peppered O’Donnell with outside shots with both hands to win with a 5-0 decision.

Christopher will now go on to the Cadets and hopefully do the double.

A big thank you to all who helped Christopher fulfil his dream of Ireland glory. Christopher is a lad of few words and is always willing to watch & learn from the people around him a word of thanks to Ger Harris MMA specialist who has worked with Chris over the last few months and of course sparing partners coaches and all at Tralee Boxing Club.
