Verners Tess
A TRALEE man has teamed up with Leona Maguire as her new caddie.
The prolific golfer from Cavan has engaged the services of Verners Tess ahead of tomorrow’s CPKC Women’s Open in Canada, with the Olympics in Paris also beckoning in the coming weeks.
Maguire parted company with her caddie of three years, Dermot Byrne last month. The two-time LPGA winner and Solheim Cup star has now opted to team up with Tess, a 20-year LPGA Tour veteran.
He previously enjoyed two stints with two-time Solheim Cup-winning captain Catriona Matthew. The caddie captain in the 2019 Solheim Cup win, Verners was also part of the European management team in their Solheim Cup success of 2021.
