Tralee Rowing Club Members Win Medals At Indoor Championships

TRALEE Rowing Club members were in the medals at the the Irish Indoor Rowing Championships in the Sports Arena at UL on Saturday.

Many of the club’s junior and adult rowers attended and won an impressive 7 medals —  two adults and five youths.

John Tuite was 1st in the M50-54 1000m; Paula Moloney was 3rd in LW40-49 2,000m; Sean Morris was 2nd in MJ15 500m; Conall MacThreinfiur was 2nd in 2,000m; Amy Darcy was 1st in WJ16 2,000m and 3rd in the WJ16 500m and Alex Maritz was 2nd in WJ16 500m.

“There were also many personal results that were just as impressive,” said Club PRO, Jane Boyle. “We were very proud of how the group supported each other and how they positively represented their club and town.”

“These results are testament to our rowers development and determination and the dedication and effort of our coaches. This event is a daunting arena and each rower who went and performed deserves great credit, our rowers looked out for and supported each other in an outstanding manner.

“All this as we face the continued problem of months ahead with an empty canal and hence the lack of the opportunity to train on water,” added Jane.
