A LONG running Christmas Tralee RFC tradition will be adding a new event this year.

The ‘Home v Exiles’ game has been played every St Stephen’s Day at O’Dowd Park in Ballyard for over 30 years and this year the club has added a 3k/5k fun run to the day of festivities.

“This year we’re looking at making it a bit more family orientated so we decided to add a fun run,” said Tralee RFC Chairman Jeremy Walsh.

The fun run will get underway 1pm and be followed by ‘Home v Exiles’ match which kicks off at 2:30pm.

The Exiles team is made up of past players of the club who are home over the Christmas period, so as you can imagine the match is a great opportunity for old friends to meet up once more.

After the match, players and attendees will get a chance to catch up even more at the clubhouse where there will be refreshments and spot prizes. Proud sponsors of the inaugural fun run are Noyeks Newmans in Mile Height.
