Tralee School Named Munster Winner In SuperValu Tiny Tidy Towns Competition

HOLY Family National School in Tralee has been name Munster regional winners of the SuperValu Tiny Tidy Towns Competition.

On Friday, November 1, two teachers and two pupils from the school will travel to the Croke Park Conference Centre in Dublin to collect the award.

On the day, Minister Heather Humphreys as well as Luke Hanlon, SuperValu will announce the results of this year’s national competition and present prizes to award winners.

Principal Maria O’Regan spoke of the importance of the award and what is means to the school. “We are delighted that our hard work has been recognised. Mr. O’Sullivan and his team of pupils and staff here in Holy Family have worked so hard over the past year to ensure our school grounds and well kept and maintained to a very high standard.”

“Our school is located in a prime area in Tralee town which is very visible to the public so to be recognised for this award is a true honour. We would like to thank Martha Farell and her colleagues of Tralee Tidy Towns who have been instrumental in helping us along this journey. They have introduced us to Trees of the Land and ViClarity who worked together to help us with the planting of 1000 trees around our school grounds. “

The event will be livestreamed and RTE Nationwide will be filming for a dedicated programme on the event.
