Tralee Tennis Club Members Enjoy Success At Open Event

Tralee Tennis Club members, Pamela Bailey, Linda O’Neill, Fiona Brick and Gerry Jeewoonarain, who were successful at a recent tennis meeting.

TRALEE Tennis Club had two sets of winners at the Lakewood Open in Ballincollig, Cork, which took place from Friday, April 8 to Sunday, April 17.

Gerry Jeewoonarain and Fiona Brick won their Grade 6 Mixed Doubles final 6-3, 6-2 and played four matches (including the the Quarter and Semi Finals on Saturday, April 16) in total over the week.

Linda O’Neill and Pamela Bailey won their Grade 5 Ladies Doubles final 6-2, 6-3 after playing through some tough matches.

They had to play their semi and final both on the final day, only having a half an hour break between the two. It’s a great start to the season for the club and hopefully they’ll have many more wins in Opens to come.
