AFTER rising steadily since October, the number of people signing on in Tralee dropped last month.

The latest figures from the Central Statistics Office show that there were 3,846 on the Tralee live register in March, a decrease of 126 on February’s  number.

In the past year, the number of people signing on in Tralee has fallen by 13%, the same as for the county over the past year.

The number of people signing on in the county in March is 8,857 down 550 on the previous month.

All seven social welfare offices saw a fall in numbers with Killarney seeing the biggest drop of 210 to 1,443 people signing on.
