THERE was great news this afternoon as Tralee has retained its Gold Medal status in the Tidy Towns competition.
Tralee got 303 marks, an increase of five from their 2013 mark of 298.
It caps off a great few months where Tralee was deemed Cleaner Than European Norms in the IBAL competition and everybody in town pulled together to put in a fantastic showing for the Entente Florale judges in July.
Kilkenny which has been named Ireland’s Tidiest Town. Clonegal in Carlow claimed the title of Ireland’s Tidiest Village and Kilrush in Co Clare received the award for Tidiest Small Town.
