MUCH has been written about the great Maureen O’Hara since she passed away on Saturday.
The actress was 95 years old when she passed away at her home in Boise, Idaho, but Ireland was always close to her heart.
Maureen was in Tralee in 2008 when the Kerry Film Festival inaugurated the Maureen O’Hara Award, an award established to celebrate outstanding women in cinema, named in her honour.
But that’s not the only Tralee connection. The actress, who was born in Dublin in 1920, sang the Rose of Tralee with Andy Williams on his US TV show back in the 1960s.
Have a look here…
Fantastic, didn’t know she had such a lovely voice.
