THE winners of the March and April Tralee Tidy Towns Business awards were announced at the Tralee Chamber Alliance AGM at the Grand Hotel on Monday evening.

The judges were impressed by Borg Warner, Monavalley Industrial Estate, and H Factor, John Joe Sheehy Road, Tralee who both won framed paintings by renowned local artist John Hurley.

The Judges cited the “wonderful ground planting, which contained many well maintained shrub beds,” at Borg Warner.  “The grass was cut and the general area was free of litter and in pristine condition.  The building itself, though large in size, is very well maintained, clean windows and brick work. There is also a bike shelter close to the manufacturing area which we thought was a great idea. Borg Warner clearly demonstrates that despite operating in a very busy part of town, it is possible to have wonderful looking premises for staff, visitors and the passing public to enjoy,” the judges said.

For H Factor on John Joe Sheehy Road, the judges had this to say: “The H Factor is a beacon of brightness and freshness in an area that needs much attention. Very well maintained front with lovely planting leading to the front door.  The front is made up predominantly of glass which was sparkling clean.”

“We appreciate that it cannot be easy to maintain on a constant basis a business located on one of the busiest roads in Tralee but they somehow manage to achieve this.  We were very taken by their planting pots of stone and mosaic tiles, reflecting their merchandise and these were planted with beautiful colour.  We hope that others along this road will be encouraged to step up to the mark by the example shown by H Factor.”

Well done to both businesses who were heartily congratulated by CEO of Tralee Chamber Alliance, Kieran Ruttledge and President John Drummey.
