Senior Ladies

The senior ladies had their first field session Sunday in glorious weather. A huge effort was made by the group so well done.

Training will take place on Thursday (March 9th) with strength and conditioning in the hall from 7pm-8pm and again Sunday 12th March on the field at 12 noon. Under 6 Boys and Girls

The boys and girls were full of energy and enthusiasm as we had our second training session of the season on March 5th. We practiced our hop and pick-ups among other skills.  Favourite with the players today was catch the coach.

Special thanks to Simi and Julie from the senior ladies and Brian from the senior men for helping out today. Training continues Sunday mornings at 11am in our Ballyseedy complex.  Everyone welcome.

Coach Alan and boom boom having fun coaching the u7 boys and girls

Under 7 Boys and Girls

Magnificent training this morning from our under 7s with special emphasis on the hand pass, solo and kick pass. We finished off with some fun 3v3 games, which were keenly contested. Everyone had great fun with some fantastic skills on display.  Well done to everyone. Training continues next Sunday morning at 11am in our Ballyseedy complex. Everyone is welcome

U 8 and u 10 girls at training Sunday mornin

Under 8 and 10 Girls

Our under 8 and 10 girls continued training today. We started with a warmup and progressed to picking, passing, soloing and kicking skills. A short match followed where the girls put their skills into practice and showed great enthusiasm. A great training session was had. Training next Sunday at 9-45am sharp. New players are always welcome.

Under 12 Girls

U12 girls had a great turnout at their two sessions this week. The girls have settled in well for their new season and are showing great enthusiasm and willing to learn, working hard on their skills and working well as a team. The girls are looking forward to commencing their matches in a few weeks’ time. Training every Sunday 12-1 & Thursdays 7-8

Gum Shields Mandatory. New players are always welcome.

Under 14 Girls

Training for the John Mitchels under 14 girls continues with a strong turnout from the players every night. With the benefit of the winter programme of Strength & Conditioning apparent, the girls are now concentrating on ball-work and replicating match-play scenarios during training.

It is refreshing to see the quality and skills being shown by the u12 girls who have come into the u14 ranks for the first time this year and there is a determination by all players to progress, as individuals and as a team.

The bond and team spirit between the players is excellent as well, and training sessions have been focused, but with plenty of laughter and enjoyment as well. Training times for March have changed, with the u14s now training on Monday nights 6-7pm and Thursday nights 7-8pm. The coaches will be organizing challenge games over the coming weeks in preparation for the County League.

Under 16 Girls

Great week overall with high numbers. At Monday night’s training the team worked on fitness, soloing more of a skill-based session back to basics style. The club is delighted to welcome coach Ava Buckley who has joined our Under 16 Management Team. Ava is also a senior player with John Mitchels and took her first training session Friday night.

Under 9 Boys

This week once again saw fantastic numbers for John Mitchels under Boys. With the weather being so good meant we could train on our Astro Pitch giving our young stars loads of room to move around. It’s fantastic to see our young stars

improving each week already. Training for John Mitchels U9 Boys continues every Sunday from 9.45am sharp Gumshields & water essential. Any new players are very welcome.

u 11 boys at training Sunday morning

Under 11 Boys

There was a huge turn out this morning for our U11’s training session where players worked on the core skills of the game and our buys showed great skill and determination. Fun was had by all which is really encouraging for the year ahead.

U13 team who played Na Gaeil on Sunday evening.

Under 13 Boys

Our U13 Green team put an impressive score line on the board with Na Gaeil struggling to cope with a dominant Mitchels backline, with a commanding performance by our midfield and forwards.

The full backline got on top early and never let up and the half backline was a launch pad for our forwards who were imperious to a man. The midfield offering support going both directions topped off a great day for the boys.

Congratulations to Ahmed and Marcus who made their debut for the club. There was a spirited and determined performance from our U13 Gold team against Na Gaeil where both teams battled hard.

There was a good performance from the entire team with a special mention to thirteen of out U11 boys who battled hard. Thanks to our Na Gaeil neighbours for the challenge games which were played with great spirit and sportsmanship by both teams. Training continues again on Friday at 6pm. New players always welcome.

Under 15 Boys

Last Wednesday evening we were back on the pitch for our 3rd training session with Alan O’Donoghue leading the coaching session. We had very good attendance and a great session to follow covering a number of skills. We would ask all players to make an extra effort to make u15 training as we prepare for our competitions starting at the end of March. Training details to be issued via parents whatsapp group.
