THERE are 39 patients waiting on trolleys at University Hospital Kerry today according to figures from the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation, a record high since they started collecting data.
Only Cork University Hospital (54) and University Hospital Limerick (40) had more patients waiting on trolleys today.
Nationwide, 573 admitted patients are waiting for beds this morning, according to today’s INMO Trolley Watch. 424 are waiting in the emergency department, while 149 are in wards elsewhere in the hospital.
