IT’S going to be some night next month when the Ardfert community converges on Ballyroe to watch 12 couple take the dance floor for a special fundraiser.
The Ardfert National School Parents Association is holding a Strictly Come Dancing fundraiser on Saturday, March 26 in Ballyroe Heights Hotel.
“The response to this event has just been overwhelming,” said one of the orgainsers Joe Burkett.
“We are absolutely thrilled with the support we’ve received so far. It’s a fantastic fundraiser and now that the dancers are all on board. We just can’t wait to get started,” he added.

Rehearsals have started in earnest and at present, all couples are doing fantastically well. They are pushing themselves really hard to ensure that the show is as a good as it can possibly be.
“We’ve got 24 brilliant dancers who are all eager to get started with their training. I’m sure we can expect great things on the night from this gang” added Anne Marie Russell, Secretary of the Ardfert National School Parents Association and organiser of the event.
“We as a committee would like to thank all 24 dancers for taking part in this fundraising event for us. We understand that they are giving up their time and we would like them to know that we appreciate it. We are very grateful for their help and support”.
Money raised on the night is going towards the swimming lessons for Ardfert National School pupils the cost of which can run into thousands of Euro.
Tickets are priced at €20 with the show taking place on Easter Saturday, March 26 at the Ballyroe Heights Hotel. Please ensure you get your ticket as this event is selling fast.
