After 2 Rounds of The World Series, Sinead Kelliher, leads the points table on 7 points, but with 5 more on 6 points hot on her heels, there is a lot so swimming to be done yet. Great to see The Ladies doing so well with no less than 8 in the top ten.
Next up in The World Series is Round 3, The Wheel Rock. Arguably, one of our toughest swims because of the water pull through the pier.
Constant sighting is necessary along the c1400 metre route. Dylan Fitzgerald set the fastest time of 18m35s (and course record) last year, in challenging conditions.
Dermot Dillane, Ed Murphy and John Quilter took group honours. The Wheel Rock Swim is on 23rd June at 7.30pm. Start and finish from Lockes Beach. Great spectating from the pier. The swim is very kindly sponsored by Landers Outdoor World.
Training is well under way now for The Derrymore to Fenit Cross Bay Challenge 2016. They are covering c7200 metres this week, but being hampered by the annual invasion of Jellyfish!
21 Swimmers are on the start list with another 11 on a waiting list.
