THE annual Kerry College of Further Education Open Day on Thursday was a resounding success with an attendance of over 850 guests on the day.
People flocked from all over Kerry, West Limerick and beyond seeking an opportunity to view the college and speak with Programme Co-ordinators about the ever expanding range of programmes on offer.
In particular, there was strong interest in some of the newly developed programmes such as animation, science, journalism, fashion, pre-teaching, pre-garda and many more.

“We’re delighted with the huge crowd,” said Principal of KCFE, Mary Lucey. “It’s a great event with some wonderful entertainment. The students have been so helpful providing tours and talks to potential students and it’s great for them to give that insight into what it’s like being a student at KCFE.”
While many secondary schools brought busloads of school leavers there was also a massive interest from adults considering a return to education to retrain, upskill or change career direction.
As the programmes are developed in line with industry needs and also act as a solid foundation for those progressing to higher education it is no wonder that there were a lot of applications made on the on-line system as a result.
Those considering a programme should note that they are being offered on a first come first served basis provided minimum entry requirements are met. Applications can be made online at kerryfe.ie Scroll down for photos…
