AMBER FLAG
Sunday last was a very proud day for the club as we had the honour of raising the “Amber Flag “ in our Club, the first club in the County to do so. The Amber Flag acknowledges our work with mental fitness within our club and community.
Con O’Connor from Pieta House presented the flag to Senior Club Chairman, Haulie Kerins. It was raised above the club by the Moran family. Talks to children and parents followed from Dr Susan Lawlor and Eoin Burns.
We mightn’t see it – but each one of us, somewhere in our family, may be effected by a loved one who has mental health problems. We have started a ‘Mental Health and Fitness Programme’ to help our members.
Susan will be working very closely with the Juvenile Club over the coming months on our mental fitness programme and we are very lucky to have her expertise. Details will be forthcoming to parents over the next few weeks.
OPEN DAY
On Sunday, in conjunction with the unveiling of the Amber Flag, we held our second family open day for our members and community.
Community means so much to us in Kerins O’Rahilly’s Club and huge crowds were in attendance and everyone had a great day.
It was brilliant to see so many new faces. There was music, activities both on and off the field, barbecue, shops and so much more. It was a fantastic day. Thanks so much to Con and Danny for the barbecue.
Shirley, Claire, Jennifer, Brenda, Thomas and of course “the girls” thank you so much for all the work you did. Huge thank you to Maurice who was there all day and as helpful as ever.
CAKE SALE
Thank you to everyone who contributed to our cake sale last Sunday. Many of our younger girls as well as Moms were busy baking on Saturday night and there was a fine display of yummy cakes. Thanks also to everyone who supported them – much appreciated.

SUMMER CAMP
We will hold our summer camp from Monday, July 29th to Friday, August 2nd. The camp will run from 10a.m. – 2p.m. daily. The Camp will be limited in numbers and after the huge Cúl Camp it would be wise to book early.
It’s €30 for one child nd €50 for a family of two or more (siblings). All welcome!

U10 GIRLS
Austin Stacks Club will host Go Games this Thursday, July 11th In Connolly Park. Games commence at 6.30p.m. Please be there for 6p.m.
Remember these are FUN games, no scores are kept and it’s all about everyone participating in games.
U12 GIRLS
This Wednesday, July 10th we are home to Duagh in the North Kerry Division 3 Shield final v Duagh. Throw in at 7p.m. in Ballyrickard. Can everyone please be there for 6.15 p.m. Best of luck to the girls and their coaches.
KLGFA U12 BLITZ
KLGFA have decided to run an U12 blitz commencing on July 16th. It will run over 4-6 weeks dependent on group size. EVERY team in each group will host the blitz for a night.
Team size : 9 a side or if both teams have a large panel it will be 11 a side
These will be mini games on a Go Games sized pitch. Groupings will be geographical to avoid long journeys.
U13 GIRLS
Development training continues next Saturday at 11a.m.Please bring your mouthguard, water and €2 each. We will have details of Championship early in the week.
U14 GIRLS
Training continues on Tuesday and Thursday in Ballyrickard. Newcomers always welcome.

SENIOR LADIES
Training continues on Tuesday and Thursday under the watchful eye of Erris. We are away to Dingle next Sunday, July 14th. Throw in at 12.30p.m. Best of luck to the girls and Erris.
BAG PACKING – LADIES AND JUVENILES
Thank you to Tesco, Manor for allowing us to bag pack last Saturday. Thank you to everyone who supported us and to our volunteers who kindly gave up their time. We enjoyed the banter with the customers too.
Credit Union Co League Preview
The Co League resumes next weekend with both of our senior sides in action on Round 8. The Senior A panel remain joint top of the table on 10 points with town rivals Austin Stacks and Spa Killarney, with Rathmore just one point behind.
However, five more clubs remain in contention for the title with four sitting on eight points and next weekend’s opponents, Killarney Legion, just one point further back.
Legion edged O’Rahillys in April’s club championship game in Killarney and recent clashes between the sides have been tight.
Given that Legion also has the best defensive record in the League, the task facing Strand Road comes into sharp focus.
Nevertheless, the Blues should be approaching the game with confidence following three wins from the last four matches over Dingle (away), Templenoe (home) and latterly An Ghaeltacht in West Kerry which was arguably the squad’s most impressive performance to date.
Despite the recent absence of several key players, O’Rahillys have displayed huge resilience and a storming performance in the opening period in Gallarus, followed by a composed second half display augurs well for this young side’s chance of taking both points from the Killarney men.
The composition of O’Rahillys starting 15 will be interesting. Will Gary Kissane or Shane Foley start in goals?
Sean Collins, David Murphy and Ross O’Callaghan looks like a settled full back line and the in-form duo of Ryan Carroll and Karl Mullins, if available, will surely fill two of the spots in the half back line.
The third spot could rest between Darragh McElligott, Cormac Coffey and Shane Brosnan, although all three could also be deployed elsewhere. Con Barrett looks set to start at midfield, possibly partnered by Tom Hoare.
Barry John Keane will lead the attack if available, with support expected from Sean Walsh who fielded superbly in Gallarus and minor star, Conor Hayes. Paidi Griffin, Rory O’Connor and Gearoid Dillane among others will be in contention for the remaining starting places.
The game is fixed for Saturday next, 13th July, at 7.30pm in Strand Road, due to Sunday’s Super 8’s clash of Kerry and Mayo in Fitzgerald Stadium. Keep an eye on our social channels – Facebook, Twitter and kerinsorahillys.comfor updates.
Our Senior B team went under to Ballyduff last time out and although at home to Beale next weekend, they will have a tough task in trying to get the better of the North Kerry outfit.
Beale currently sit second in the table, trailing Scartaglin by just two points and will be desperate for a victory in order to keep pace. So, it won’t be easy for O’Rahillys and the composition of the side will be crucial.
Rob O’Connor remains superb in goals. The defence will be backboned by Jason O’Leary and Tom McGrath, with Kieran Mangan and Barry Foley providing valuable support. Rory Molloy should drive the team from midfield, with Donagh O’Brien, Johnny Keane, Brian Scannell, Gearóid Hartnett, Kevin Johnson-Horgan, Shane McElligott and Darragh Fitzgerald in contention for places in the forwards.
Again, the game is fixed for Saturday next, 13th July in Strand Road, preceding the A game with a 5.30pmthrow-in. Keep checking our social channels for updates. All support welcome for both of our panels.
