A FESTIVAL of literacy and fun was held in Presentation Secondary Tralee this past week as students and staff enjoyed their annual Love Literature Week.
A homage to all things literature-related, students were blown away by mesmerising and stimulating speakers and workshops. ‘The Fresh Film Festival’ with talented film-maker Mike Vanmealdon was a huge success with staff and students enthralled by a wonderful set of short films.
Moyvane maestro and celebrated Kerry treasure, Gabriel Fitzmaurice read a collection of his poetry to first years.

Another hugely successful event was the “Older and Bolder” gathering – a melting pot of Tralee’s senior citizens who regaled students with tales of their lives.
The school community visited The Rose Hotel on Wednesday to meet with motivational speaker and author Gary Cunningham of ‘I am enough’ fame.
Literacy table quizzes, treasure hunts, poetry, short story and aminations competitions were held throughout the week.
Fiesty females Elsa and Anna entertained 1st year and TY students at the Pres premiere of “Frozen 2” and a magical afternoon was had by all.
As is now tradition, the week concluded with a Gala Fashion parade as staff and students strutted their stuff dressed as characters for a whole myriad of literacy tales. Scroll down for photos…
