Free Tour Of Tralee Bay Wetlands To Mark World Wetlands Day

TRALEE Bay Wetlands will host a free guided walk of the facility early next month to mark World Wetlands Day,.

Taking place on February 2nd, World Wetlands Day is a celebration of one of our world’s most vulnerable and yet most valuable natural habitats.

For first time ever World Wetlands Day will be officially observed within the context of United Nations as it was adopted as an International Day by UN General Assembly in August 2021.

To mark this day of International importance Tralee Bay Wetlands Eco & Activity Park, will host an immersive guided walk around the property to heighten public awareness around the critical importance of wetlands to people and the planet.

Discover the long history of human use and reliance on wetlands and hopefully meet some of their wild residents!

This Guided Walk at Tralee Bay Wetlands Centre will be free of charge. However please note tickets must be pre booked in advance and are available from www.traleebaywetlands.org .

It takes place on Wednesday, February 2 at 12noon and 3pm and take approximately one and a half hours. Suitable outdoor comfortable clothing and footwear is required.

During this guided walk and venture around the main lake and wetlands marsh you can view and spot local birds in action. Learn more about the importance of wetland ecosystems and the services they provide.

You will be venturing around the lake and urban wetlands marsh to find what birds are hiding nearby. After this walk you will hopefully be able to identify some local birds and have a greater appreciation of your local habitats.=
