Wetlands To Host Coastwatch Information Event On Sunday

THE Tralee Bay Wetlands Centre will welcome Karin Dubsky, Coastwatch Coordinator, for an event this Sunday, September 17 from 10-11am.

The event includes a public briefing on biodiverse blue carbon seagrass mapping, and a workshop on how to turn a beach walk into a citizen science survey.

The Coastwatch 2023 annual Autumn Survey runs from September 15th to October 15th. Regional and local coordinators will be on-hand for an information session tailored to Kerry.

There will be an information and materials display indoors at Tralee Bay Wetlands Centre, and optional demonstration outdoors near the canal coastline.

There will also be a follow-on seagrass mapping demo for those planning to survey a seagrass bed or meadow for the mapping campaign.

People are asked to dress for the weather, wear suitable footwear. All are welcome, minors must be with a responsible adult. No prior experience needed.
