THE Hy-Breasal Players performances this week have been such a success that an extra night has been added this Saturday night at Madden’s Coffeehouse on Milk Market Lane.
Their Wednesday to Friday night run has sold out and audiences have loved the plays performed each night in the intimate venue upstairs from the charming and stylish coffeehouse.
The plays are Frank Houlihan’s ‘Communion’ and ‘Conception’ and Pauline Shanahan’s ‘Positive Dead People’, with Frank on direction duties each night.

“It’s been super, the cast have been amazing,” said Frank. “Our capacity is limited each night so there’s been a spillover into an extra date on Saturday, but there are a few tickets still available.”
‘Communion’ and ‘Conception’ are two comedies featuring Kay Dowling, Gillian Wharton, Eleanor Sugrue, Mags Slattery and Gloria Keane, while in the poignant comedy ‘Positive Dead People’, Roisín Reidy plays Monica and Amy Naughton, Milly.
Admission on the evening is €12 and limited tickets for Saturday’s 8pm performance are available by texting 0879415523.
Madden’s Coffeehouse also has a wine licence so wines of quality can also be enjoyed on the night. Scroll down for photos…
