A TRALEE woman has been nominated for an international award. Dr. Susan Lawlor has been nominated and shortlisted for The Mental Health Awards in the ‘Professional’ category.

The Mental Health Awards celebrate outstanding and inspirational stories from across the UK and internationally. They will be held at The Dickens Inn, London on November 2.

Dr. Susan Lawlor is a global multi-award winning psychotherapist working nationally and internationally with children and adults of all ages.

She works with a global team assessing and counselling young people and adults with Autism and/or ADHD. She is a lecturer and Academic Supervisor also for students in Cork and Limerick.

These Mental Health Awards are judged by a panel representing clinicians and national mental health organisations across the UK and internationally.

There are eight categories with Dr. Susan Lawlor being nominated for the ‘Professional’ category. This category is for the public to nominate an individual mental health professional who they think has made the difference to them and others.

Dr Susan Lawlor became a World Dignity Mental Health Champion Award Winner, ‘Individual’ Category in Westminster, London last year.

She received the National Mental Health Hero Award Nominee with Special Recognition in 2020 and she became the Kerry Hero Award Winner 2019 in association with Radio Kerry and Fexco for raising awareness of mental health throughout the GAA – State of Mind Ireland.

In the same year, she was the Connect Kerry Women in Business Community Champion Winner for raising awareness of mental health throughout Ireland – State of Mind Ireland.
