GARDAI made 21 arrests for public order offences in Killarney over the May Bank Holiday weekend which was down on other years.

All in all, the Rally of the Lakes was a great success for businesses with little trouble for the Gardaí with around 20,000 people in town for the event.

There was one arrest for assault while six people were arrested for possession of drugs and one person for possession for sale or supply.

The traffic corps were out in force over the weekend with regular checkpoints and 14 cars were seized for no tax, NCT, insurance and other motor offences.
