LOCAL arts and crafts people in Kerry have got together and opened a new shop to sell their goods in Tralee.

‘Atlantic Creations’ has been open nearly two months in Courthouse Lane, but had their official launch on Saturday with Kerry footballer Kieran Donaghy lending a hand by showing up and signing jerseys and posing for photos.

One of the crafters, Carina Sayers from Causeway, explained how the shop came about.

“We started off with a shop in Ballybunion two years ago as a collective, but it’s very seasonal there. So we decided to take the leap and open a shop in Tralee. We started off with seven of us in September and we currently have 18 crafters here with their goods,” she explained.

The crafters come from all over the county and there’s everything from pottery, jewellery, photographs, paintings, knitted clothing and much more.
