DRAGONS, dancers and a battle for Tralee raged in the Square last night as part of the Tralee 800 celebrations.
Members of the Déise Medieval group were joined by local performers for a short pageant about a family fighting against the Anglo-Normans. The performers staged a short fight followed by a dancing by members of Bryan Carr’s School of Performing Arts.
“We put a lot of work into it to get it right. It was excellent, the idea of the spectacle was the sense of the Normans and the Irish. We had the representation of Queen Maeve and the bull bringing in Celtic influences. It was a great 15 minutes of performance,” said Bryan Carr.
Pyrotechnics added to the enjoyment of a great first evening of entertainment for the Festival and the weather stayed dry as well. Scroll down for a short video of the end of the performance and photos below…
