New Courses Added To Huge List Of Options At Kerry College Of Further Education

KERRY College of Further Education (KCFE) are delighted to announce the addition of several new courses to the college this coming September.

The courses are in tourism, office management, law, mechatronic engineering and software development and add to the existing range of courses at KCFE at Clash, Tralee, which includes sports therapy, childcare, art & design, professional cookery, applied social studies, pre-nursing, veterinary assistant, engineering, construction and furniture making, criminology, business, multimedia, office administration, medical and legal secretarial studies and many more.

A new Tourism course is a very welcome addition for the county and with approximately 25% of employment in Kerry related to the tourism sector.  The recently-announced Government plan for tourism projects a growth of up to 50% over the next decade and it is planned that County Kerry will contribute significantly to that growth.

Another new employment focused course includes Software Development  which will produce graduates  who are qualified software testers, software developers and web designers.

The Office Management course was designed in consultation with local employers.  It will satisfy employer needs for secretarial skilled graduates with supervisory management skills which will enable career progression within office environment in both the public and private sectors.

The Mechatronic Engineering targets skills shortages and will prepare students for careers in electronic servicing, electronic repair, industrial maintenance work and the telecommunications sector.

The Pre-University Arts (Languages and European Studies) will be a direct entry route into a number of third level Arts Degree programmes while the Pre-University Law gives the ideal base for those who wish to explore various elements of law with a view to progressing to third level law based courses.
