GREEN and gold and great excitement filled the halls of Gaelscoil Mhic Easmainn for the arrival of past pupils and All-Ireland minor champions with Kerry, Diarmuid O’Connor and Ryan O’Neill.
For Diarmuid, there was a chance to view a poem he wrote a number of years ago which hints at future success on the hallowed ground of Croke Park.
‘Playing on the Field of Dreams’ has hung on a wall at Gaelscoil Mhic Easmainn since Diarmuid played Mini 7’s for Kerry in Croke Park while he was still in Primary School. (View below)

The two play their football with nearby Na Gaeil along with Stefan Okunbor who also picked up a Celtic cross when Kerry beat Galway in Croke Park two weeks ago.
Due to college commitments in Limerick, Stefan unfortunately couldn’t be there to parade the cup alongside his clubmen.
Gaelscoil Mhic Easmainn are making a habit of producing past pupils who go on to climb the steps of the Hogan Stand with Kerry. In recent years, Andrew Barry and Jack Morgan were part of Kerry minor winning teams in 2014 and 2015. Andrew Barry has since gone on to pick up an All-Ireland junior medal this year.
If this conveyor belt of talent keeps up, one suspects it won’t be long before a former pupil will be bringing Sam through the doors of Gaelscoil Mhic Easmainn. Scroll down for photos…
