Brendan Griffin TD welcomed funding for IT Tralee.

IT TRALEE is to be allocated €590,000 as part of a capital grant for Institutes of Technology.

The Minister for Education, Richard Bruton, has allocated a total of €10 million for the 14 ITs across the country via the Higher Education Authority.

“For the third year in a row, Tralee IT is receiving an allocation from the capital grant for improvement works to the Institutes of Technology,” said Fine Gael TD, Brendan Griffin, welcoming the news. “The decision on the allocation of funding is based on enrolment figures, so as one of the five ITs with an enrolment range of less than 3,500 students, Tralee IT will receive €590,000.”

“This funding can be used for improvement works, and to allow the college to address urgent health and safety concerns. The funding can also be used to commence programmes of equipment renewal and this includes the upgrade of IT facilities, which is great news for the students and staff who will benefit.”
