THE open day at Coláiste Gleann Lí in Clash was a huge success on Saturday with the biggest numbers yet coming through the doors between 9.30am and 1pm.
The school, which now has 150 students, is going from strength to strength and the staff had a chance to show parents and guardians of primary school pupils the facilities and explain the ethos of the secondary school.

“It was an excellent day,” said Principal Richard Lawlor. “The amount of people coming in since 9.30am has been great. It’s testament to what we’re doing here.”
He also stressed the family atmosphere prevalent throughout the school.
“The teachers know all the students by name. When a student comes in it’s noticed pretty quickly if he or she is not having a good morning. That’s the level of care we have here and one of the main differences between us and other schools,” he said.
Many students were also present to help on the day along with the parents council who helped with the refreshments. Scroll down for photos…
