A COFFEE/FASHION morning was held at a popular Tralee shop for a great cause on Friday.

Eileen Whelan of Paco on The Mall organised the event to raise awareness of the annual Jamie Wrenn/Mike Deane walk from Tralee to Castlegregory which takes place on July 22 and  has already raised €77,643 for great causes since 2010.

There was a steady stream of people into the shop to show their support, despite the work on the pavement going on directly outside the door.

Guests enjoyed teas, coffees and scones and buns from Brudair’s on Abbeycourt as well as a fashion show for ladies attending.

Eileen, who has hosted similar events for various causes, was happy with how the morning went and is looking forward to taking part in the walk later this month.

“It’s great to create awareness of the event. It’ll be a great walk as the scenery is spectacular on that road. Hopefully there’ll be a good turnout on the day,” said Eileen, who thanked everyone who helped on Friday.

Sponsorship cards for the walk which will raise much needed funds for Recovery Haven cancer support house, can be collected at the store and Recovery Haven.
