PEIL FAOI 7: (i) We’ll have the very best of football, as usual, next Sunday morning (10ú Meán Fómhair) at 11am in Caherslee. (ii) Thursday evening’s football was brill! See you all this Thursday (5.30pm).

PEIL FAOI 9: (i) Hoping to see you all on Sunday next (September 10th) for our big U9 challenge game v Ardfert. We’ve invited Ardfert to Connolly Park for the return leg of our ‘home and away’ matches.

Our Sunday sessions will continue until the end of October. (iii) Our5.30pm Thursday session will continue until the end of October. The Bracker Regan Cup, the Paddy Drummond and the Jimmy Barry Cup competitions will be coming up shortly! Great games ahead!

(iv) Another important date for the diary is September 30th (Saturday)….we’ll welcome Monaleen from Limerick City. Tá peileadóirí maithe i Móin a’ Lín. (v) Our annual Canty Cup Competition trip to the St Finbarr Club in Cork City will take place next month (October). Táimid ag tnúth go mór leis an turas! (Tim McMahon)

PEIL FAOI 11: (i) More football fun at 10.50am next Sunday (10ú Meán Fómhair) in Caherslee.(ii) The John Galvin and the Gary Fernane Cup competitions will be coming up in the very near future!

PEIL FAOI 12: Eric Mason Blitz 2023: Best wishes to our 2011 boys (U12) who are eagerly looking forward to this Saturday’s (9th) football blitz in Ballymacelligott. It promises to be an action-packed day of exciting and competitive football. The day will open at 10am with a parade which will be led by Donncha Ó Raghallaigh, píobaire.

The Rock’s first opposition, at 11am, will be Glanmire (Cork) and at 12.30pm the Black‘n’Amber boys will challenge the lads of the Fr Casey Club from Mainistir na Féile (Luimneach). Other teams taking part: Firies, Keel, Churchill, Mungret (Limerick) and, of course, the host club (Ballymac).

The semi-finals and finals (Shield and Cup) will be played in the afternoon. This blitz is being organised by the Ballymac Club in memory of Eric Mason who passed to his eternal reward in 2011; ní raibh sé ach cúig bliana déag d’aois. This is the 10th blitz in Eric’s memory. It’s a special day for his family! Beannacht Dé lena anam. You’ll be part of a special occasion, boys!

AR SCOIL: Concentrate, listen, ask when unsure and learn while in school….and all will be well!

PEIL FAOI 13: (i) Training continues on Tuesdays and on Thursdays. How wonderful to see so many enthusiastic Rock boys in attendance at our training sessions. We’ll have a busy few weeks ahead of us, lads…..real challenges, tough competitions and exciting tournaments to put a great finish to our very successful 2023 season.

A mid-autumn of exciting challenges! (ii) Our A team made the short trip to the Ahane Pitch on Monday last (4th) and played a great challenge game v Ballymac. Brilliant football by both teams! Well done, all! (iii) Our B team (Roinn 3) hosted Firies B in Connolly Park last week. A really impressive team performance delighted The Rock coaches as they plan ahead for the important upcoming Town League. (iv)

Our B lads have been really looking forward to playing their remaining Town League fixtures v the Kerins-O’Rahilly Club and v Ballymac. A high standard of good flowing football is expected! Our boys, according to the ‘hurlers on the ditch,’ have a good chance making it to the final; they’ve had three wins in three games!

(v) U13 Claregalway Tournament: We are looking forward to taking part in the inaugural U13 tournament i mBaile Chláir na Gaillimhe on Saturday 30th September. That will be a brilliant outing. Further updates and details will be provided nearer the time. So, boys, keep fit and be ready for a great 199km trip to the ‘Town on the River Clare in Galway’ (daonra: 1,300).

(iv) The John Galvin Cup and the Gary Fernane Cup competitions will shortly be knocking on the door! (v) We hope that all our boys are settling in well to school life, go mór mór na buachaillí atá i mBliain a hAon sa mheánscoil. See your schooling as a challenge, work hard and enjoy the experience! LEE STRAND FIXTURES: The now famous Lee Strand Football Tournament (U14), organised by the Austin Stack Club, will take place on Saturday 23rd September with 12 teams taking part.Brilliant competitive exciting games ahead! Not to be missed by football aficionados!
Group A: Na Stacaigh, Cluain Tarbh, Ennistymon (An Clár).
Group B: Na Gaeil, Na Piarsaigh, Stradbally (Contae Laoise).
Group C: Na hÓ Céirín~Ó Rathailligh/Naomh Pádraig, Nemo Rangers (Corcaigh), Oranmore/Maree (Gaillimh).
Group D: Churchill, An Ghaeltacht, Salthill/Cnoc na Cathrach (Gaillimh).
Training continues in preparation for this great day of games. Keep an eye on the group WhatsApp messages for training plans.

PEIL FAOI 14/15: (i) Training sessions will continue to be held for everyboy, including the Lee Strand Tournament players. Check the group WhatsApp messages for training plans.

With all players back from holidays and back from other football team duties we are hoping to get some decent work done before our final run of games this year….full attendance is requested, required and expected le bhur dtoil. So, boys, let’s keep up the hard work….an traenáil, an chomhimirt agus an aclaíocht.

(ii) A great challenge match took place between our U14 boys and the U15s. It was a tight game with both teams giving it everything to claim bragging rights within the group. The older boys took the win by two points in a game that was in the balance right up until the final whistle. Encouraging stuff, lads, and well done!

(iii) On Wednesday (6th) we had a Central League home tie against the John Mitchel Club boys. Our lads gave of their best and played very well in this local derby. Great effort, players! (ii) We are very proud of the three Rock players who were part of the North Kerry U15 development squad….Alex Ó Tuathaigh, Ruairí Ó Loinsigh agus Aodhán Ó hArgáin….and who are now the owners of All-lreland medals. PEIL FAOI 17: Good luck to our lads in their Minor Club Championship match v Listowel in Listowel on Saturday next (9th). All support required….a good vocal ‘16th Man/Woman’ would be worth a few cúilíní!!
