THE GREEN: The Green Under 19 boys performed brilliantly v Mallow’s Patrician Academy in the Munster semi-final of the TUS Corn Uí Mhuirí competition last week in Fitzgerald Stadium. Bua iontach! What a Win!

MERCY MOUNTHAWK: ‘Well done’ to the Mercy Mounthawk Under 19 footballers who gave their all in the Munster semi-final of the TUS Corn Uí Mhuirí competition and defeated their old rivals, The Sem (Coláiste Bhréanainn), last week in The Sportsfield (Páirc Aibhistín de Staic). What a Victory! Bua breá! Tréaslaímid le buachaillí na Carraige….Michael Tansley, James Fisher, Jack Ó Murchú, Ben Ó Murchú, Pádraig Ó hAllmharáin, Daniel Ó Ciarba, Paddy Ó Laighin, Noah Townsend….and to their team-mates.

HISTORY HAS BEEN MADE: TRALEE FOOTBALL IS ALIVE AND WELL! For the first time ever two Tralee college teams will meet in the U19 A Munster Final and the famous Corn Uí Mhuirí will spend the year ahead i mBaile Mór Thrá Lí. Both teams….Cnoc an tSeabhaic agus Meánscoil na mBráithre Críostaí….will challenge each other i bPáirc Aibhistín de Staic at 1.30pm on Saturday next (10ú Feabhra). Both teams will be seeking Munster glory….Munster gold! Both teams have outstanding Rock players on board! Tá sceitimíní ar lucht na Carraige!! Tá meantóirí agus iarmheantóirí Chlub de Staic chomh sásta le Diúic agus rian a gcuid oibre agus a gcuid dúthrachta le feiscint os a gcomhair amach!!! The final? A game not to missed! Two schools, one cup….corn amháin, dhá mheánscoil!!

AN SCÓR? The Green scored 2-12 v Mallow; Mounthawk scored 2-14 v The Sem. Do those winning scores tell us anything about what might happen on Saturday? Ní fheadar!

SCÓR: (i) A great night was had by all who took part in Scór na nÓg (U17) on Friday last i mBaile an Mhuilinn. Faraor, ní raibh éinne ón gCarraig páirteach! (ii) The county final of Scór na Sinsear will take place on Friday 22nd March. Anybody over 17 who is interested may contact our oifigeach cultúir, Carmel O’Neill; dates for the Tralee area 1st round have yet to be decided. (iii) The county final Scór na bPáistíwill be held on Saturday 23rd March; all district winners will go straight into a newly structured county final.

AN GAELCHOLÁISTE: Good wishes to the Gaelcholáiste (Faoi 17) footballers who are scheduled to play Douglas Community School in the Bobby Buckley Cup competition. (Dáithí Ó Loinsigh)

RECYCLING: The Austin Stack Club Ladies (LGFA) Clothing Recycling Fundraiser will take place in the clubrooms on Saturday February 17th from 11.59am to 3.00pm. Only clothing items, footwear, handbags and belts that are suitable for re-sale will be accepted (no…no household linens, bed linen, duvets or pillows). Your support would be appreciated….mórbhuíochas….ba mhó againn bhur dtacaíocht.

THE ROCK WALKERS: The ‘Every Step Counts’ walking group’s last siúlóid oifigiúil took place last Tuesday night. ‘Well done’ to all who walked the course! There’s no reason why Rock walkers can’t continue to walk on Tuesday nights! Health of body, health of mind….sláinte choirp, sláinte aigne. Go up The Rock, take The Bracker Way; come in the tracks and go home for tae!

KERRY: (i) ‘Well done’ to Joseph Ó Conchúir, Dylan Ó Cathasaigh and Armin Heinrich who were part of the fine Kerry victory v Muimhneachán on Sunday last. (ii) Sympathies to our county hurlers v Carlow.
